HELP !!!
Just bought a new Challenger and it came with the dual "carbon fiber' stripes. I've been told by a friend who works for Dodge that these are the 3M 1080 series (vinyl wrap material) Straight Cut vinyl.
The car is only a few months old, but unfortunately the dealer let it sit under a palm tree and there were horrible water marks all over the stripes when I got the car.
They tried to clean them up with some unmarked bottle of whatever, but that just masked the damage & it's slowly creeping back with every wash.
I tried fairly brisk scrubbing with DI water & MF cloths which got off some of it, but not all.
Was thinking about trying Plastix on them, but am a little hesitant & want to go the least invasive method possible to get the job done. Since the are 'carbon fiber' there is a texture to the surface which I'm guessing complicates things. The stripes go across the hood, over the roof and trunk lid.
