    Hi Dave,

I've never heard of using Hydrogen Peroxide as a bug remove before? I usually just use car wash soap and water and remove bugs when I wash the car. Lately we've had a lot of bugs, could be from the excess rain this year, and what I'll usually do is saturate the front of my car with water as I wash everything else and this tends to soften the bugs making it easier to remove them when I wash the front of the car.

I'll look around the house and see if we have some Hydrogen Peroxide and give it a try.

I'm not sure that using hydrogen peroxide would be a good idea. A quick google search turned up this...

towards the middle of the article under "stand alone applications" it lists one of its many uses as the "oxidation of various water-soluable polymers" and as a ferrous iron oxidizer.

Now, it has been a long time since college chemistry, but neither seems very good for cars or car finishes...

In the original thread, the author posts a warning that exposing hydrogen peroxide to light causes it to decompose into carbonic acid. I am pretty sure that carbonic acid is also more commonly known as "carbonated water/soda water"

      isn't chemistry fun??

        Soda Water............

I remember the old timers talking about cleaning the bugs off their windshield with Coke. In any case it would be mildly acidic and I don't think to good for the paint.

        And chemistry is fun!
