I cannot find ColorX anywhere, except on line but the shipping costs are prohibitive. Black Wax works well, seems comparable to ColorX, but don't want to buy it again as it very pricey for the amount one gets. Yesterday in a local store, I saw Meguiar's Mirror Glaze Cleaner Wax with a big number 6 on it. Is it comparable to ColorX, and can it be topped with UPW? Thank you.

Re: Cleaner Wax Number 6 Same as ColorX??
Ok, based on Michael's post below, it looks like #6 is similar to ColorX but perhaps a tad more aggressive, which is fine with me,. Looks like I may have found a replacement for my much loved ColorX.

Re: Cleaner Wax Number 6 Same as ColorX??
Doing a little searching, here's what I've found from none other than Michael Stoops:
ColorX - ColorX is like Meguiar's traditional Cleaner/Wax, (A-1216), on steroids. It's more effective at cleaning neglected finishes, restoring optimum clarity and leaving behind an incredibly long lasting synthetic polymer paint protectant than, without having to resort to harsh abrasives and without giving up the kind of stellar results you have come to expect from Meguiar's products. ColorX can be applied by hand, orbital or D/A polisher and is available in 16 ounce liquid form only.
M06 Professional Cleaner/Wax - This is the professional version of Meguiar's Cleaner Wax, meaning it is a bit more aggressive than the consumer version so it's perfectly suited for one-step applications on neglected surfaces. Because M06 is found in our Mirror Glaze Professional line it can be applied by rotary buffer for even more cleaning action, as well as by hand, orbital or D/A polisher. It is available in liquid form only, in either 16 ounce or 64 ounce packaging.

Reading between the lines, I'd say that M06 is a bit more aggressive than the A12 Cleaner Wax, but Color-X is a step above. Also, the wax content of Color-X is more durable than that of A12 or M06. I'd say you can't go wrong with any of them, but your choice should be determined by how much correction is desired.

Looks like you did a little more than me and found the "ranking" further down in the thread. Nice work!
From least to most aggressive:
A12 Cleaner Wax
M20 Polymer Sealant
ColorX
M06 Cleaner Wax
M66 Quick Detailer
D-151 Paint Reconditioning Cream
That's some good info to know.
I'd like to see it redone to show where Black Wax and White Wax fit in.

Our M66 Professional Mirror Glaze Quick Detailer is absolutely the pro version/equivalent to our ColorX, so if you are looking for the most similar, this would be the one.Nick Winn

Re: Cleaner Wax Number 6 Same as ColorX??
I use ColorX and M66 a lot. I absolutely love them, and get a lot of compliments from my cutomers.
However, I have gone through a couple bottles of M06, and also liked the results. It does a fantastic job cleaning up the paint, but doesn't spread as well as ColorX. It also didn't seem to have the longevity of ColorX/M66.
That doesn't mean it's an inferior product, quite the contrary, it just means that there is a different user experience, and slight performance diffrentiations.
Go ahead and grab a bottle with confidence. I doubt you will be disappointed.
When you get M66, it only comes in a gallon size, so in that respect, it will make more sense than buying the 16oz bottles of ColorX. Our local Pep Boys carries M66.

Try M205 since you don't like ultimate polish.

Originally posted by Blueline View PostThanks for the input. I am not concerned about the longevity of M06, as it will be topped with UW. Haven't noticed it anywhere, or may have over looked it due to the word DETAILER in the name, and just thought it was a quick wax product in a spray bottle. Will try it if I find it, otherwise I know where to find M06. Again, thanks to all.
I can see why ColorX worked so well for you.
