  • Guidance Please

Hello to the board and members. In 2000, I purchased a Meguair's kit that had some supplies, polishing pads, a Meguiar's Model 7335 5" HD Varable Speed Random Orbit Sander and a video tape. I only used the supplies and I am not sure what happened to the video tape but I can not find it. I need a little guidance, will the model 7335 5" HD Varable Speed Random Orbit Sander work as a Dual Action Polisher and if so what do I have to watch out for as far as causing problems. Any other ideas and thought you would share with me would be welcome. Thanks in advance for reading this and your thoughts.

    Hey plh,

    Welcome to Meguiar's Online!

The Meguiar's kit you purchased is the G-100 (PC) Dual Action Polisher. The great thing about this tool is how safe it is to use. The key is to use a slow arm speed and to use 2-3lbs of downward pressure on the buffer's head. For cleaners like #83 Dual Action Cleaner Polish (to remove swirls and marring), use speed #5 and a W-8006 Polishing Pad. You need to work #83 until it is light residue/dust, but do not buff dry. For a 2'x2' section, this may take 3-5 minutes depending on humidity etc... Then remove with a MF towel.

For wax application, I would use speed #3. Make sure that you have applied a uniform coat, allow to set-up (10-15 minutes) and then remove.

There is a ton of information on MOL that will answer these questions and much much more! Here are a just a couple of the many links that will help:
