Terry Towels from AutoZone

Just wondering if the terry towels that are sold at Auto Zone are decent? I think they are made by a company called Pro Elite. I bought some recently and most of them had a few small colored fibers wound into them. I tried to pick them out but I know I didn't get all of them. Will these fibers scratch my clear coat? Are the thin microfiber cloths sold at Auto Zone usable? They are also made by Pro Elite.

I would not use those substandard towels on paint. The yellow towels at Costco are much better quality and are not bad...when new. Even these are far from high quality.

Save the AZ towels for dirty work and get some higher quality one's for the paint.

Microfiber towels are the only thing that I use and for that reason you should not skimp on buying cheap ones as the quality usually is not very good. It's one product that touches your paint the most and could lead to marring/scratches which means you will be polishing the paint more. Use the cheaper towels for grunt work such as engines, wheel wells, etc.
