I spent a better part of an hour or so making sure my car was clean because a detailer's car has to be clean-right?
Well I'll be darned if it wasn't full of sap when I drove it to the city today.
I figured I could get it off the finish with some apc (diluted 10:1) but what after that? Rewash, wax and polish? Would I have to rewash if the apc is a cleaner? Perhaps put some apc in with the wash? Any help would be appreciated It's a 98 Camry.

With a cleaner like that, I would say there is a fair chance it would strip off your wax, even with some dilution. I believe there is another post where someone had good luck with Nxt wax, and sap, and being able to wash the sap off fairly easily. Fresh sap of course.

You will have to re-polish and re-wax. Use a QD every day to prevent tree sap buildup. My favorite is Speed Detailer. That way you will not have to clay or use a cleaner as often. At least for me, claying is an extremely time consuming process. It is a lot quicker just to QD every day, as long as there is no heavy dirt or mud on your car.

Tree sap is a lot easier to remove if you get it right away. If you're going to use NXT (which I would recommend) I would also get the Spray Booster Wax and use it every week if possible. Even if you just use the SBW on the hood roof and trunklid, that will help a lot. Those are the main places where tree sap accumulates.

        Hey,

I agree with RamAirV1. Remove the sap as soon as possible and then re-polish and wax the finish. Be gentle when rubbing the sap off.

I find that either I have to clay to get the tree sap off or it comes off right away with a quick detailer. And of course if I have to clay I have to start all over again and re-polish and re-wax. I will go out of my way to not park under a tree. But even then the tree sap can be a mist and carry quite some distance from the trees, but that is usually easier to remove.

Thanks for the replies. Here in the Northwest the pollen is very heavy but this is the first time I have seen sap hit the cars. I do have some NXT and will apply it soon. thanks again
