  • Washing microfiber cloths after cleaning bird poop

If a microfiber cloth is used to clean off bird poop and is then rinsed in a sink, is it safe to wash it in the washing machine with other mf cloths? Do I risk contaminating the other cloths with microscopic abrasive poop particles? Thanks.

I would wash with the others and not worry about it. MF cloths should be washed using detergent with no dyes and no fragrances etc. Definitely no fabric softeners etc.

I always dry in the dryer - without dryer softener sheets of course.

I have a few different categories of MF towels. For cleaning up things like bird droppings I don't use the same MF I would normally use for wax removal, etc.

Outside of this I would just clean the solids off of it before throwing it in with my "abuse" towels.

I never use any of my MF towels on bird poop, I just saturate a couple sheets of paper towel with detail spray and just gently wipe off.
                Toss in the garbage...way easier.

That is what I do also. Don't want that 'stuff' on my car, and I don't want it on my MF towels.

I generally don't like re-polishing. So that is out of the question.

The best choice is wash the car and blast the poop off with the hose first. Presoak if needed.

Why in the world would you need to re-polish? We use detail spray, not sand paper. I generally don't like to wash the whole car for a spot of bird poop. So that is out of the question.

Paper towel is not soft, regardless of using something to provide lubricity. So I would be stuck repolishing that area afterwards.

Washing is the best option, but I can't do that every time a bird bombs my truck.

Does that mean I can also wash it with my MF towel that I use to dry my truck after I wash it?
