D300 thru D302 Can it be used on non OE paint

In videos, I have heard Meguiar's Jason Rose mention that the D300 system is designed for OE paint.
Jason knows paint, where I don't.

Could Jason or other's expand on which paints the D3000 system is appropriate for use.

I have a 2006 Honda with original equipment pearl pint. have read that users have been successful with his pint.

I have a 30 month old two phase paint on the show car. Is this system safe for that car?
Is it a question of paint cure time or other technical consideration of the paint.
