  • Speed VS. Pressure when buffing?

I was surfing around the internet and I came across some information about buffing off excess wax, after your wax has "set up". I wanted to get some more opinions on what I found.

When you apply your favorite wax, you let it "set up", then you buff off the excess wax, and reveal a freshly waxed, shiny, smooth surface. Simple enough.

The information I found stated that you get better results by removing the excess wax in a "light, speedy fashion", rather than using "pressure" on the car's paint/surface.

The information I found did not state whether you would be using your hand or a machine.

So, which would be better, "light and speedy" OR "pressure", when buffing off excess wax after "set up"?

    Any ideas?
    Thanks in advance!

Well, I try for as light as possible. Keep in mind, too much pressure will just wear off your new wax on the surface, as it is not permanent. On the other hand, too fast can tend to throw some of the 'dust' around, as well as leave some of the wax behind. I guess I try for a slow/medium and light approach. I also do it by hand.
