  • New Bronze Fire F-250. No DISO! To Polish or not Polish?

So I've been a big fan of the #80/NXT 2.0 process with my old black F-150. I now have a bronze fire F-250 that is brand new. It was manufactured in November 2015 and from what I can tell has been sitting on the lot since and hasn't been touched. I can't find any swirl marks and I told them when I bought it that if they touch the paint before handing me the keys then the deal is off. lol.

I plan on simply washing and claying the truck. It has a good bit of surface contaminants from just sitting outside.

Once I do this I'll have a better picture, but I'm thinking if the paint still looks great just waxing as is.

    1. Do you guys recommend I polish or can I just wax? Less is more? I have #80 readily available.

    2. Ultimate or NXT 2.0? I've been a fan of NXT but don't really know much about the Ultimate. It doesn't cloud trim is that correct? That's a plus.

    3. Speaking of trim, what's the best dressing to preserve new trim?

    4. Premium leather seating. I was thinking of the ultimate balm. The seats are really nice and I'd like to keep them that way. I don't want glossy.

    Thanks for all the advice.

I'd do a pH neutral cleaner from waist down first. Follow that with a full two bucket wash & inspect before using clay.

      1. In most cases a fine polish #80, M205 or D301 will enhance the clarity and increase the gloss before LSP application.

      2. Last time I checked Ultimate liquid is the longest lasting "wax" Megs makes (the liquid version doesn't cloud trim)

        Nice color.

        1. If you are happy with how it looks you can seal it or wax it.

        2. Personal choice. Ultimate Wax will last a little longer than NXT. The liquid version of ultimate wax will not stain trim. To quote Mike Phillips, find what you like and use it often.

        3. If you want a non-Meguiar's recommendation, I would recommend Wolfgang Exterior Trim Sealant. Really great product and worth the price. If you want a Meguiar's product then ultimate black would be the one to get. Ultimate Black won't last a long but it's still a good product.

        4. The ultimate leather balm is great.

Love that color!! Similar to my Royal Red metallic on my F150 (which I love) Great looking truck.

I would use the UW. I too used NXT before really getting into this like I am now, but for the past 3 years or so, I guess, I am sold on the UW abilities. Seems to last well. I have used Colinite 845 too and liked it, but I seem to prefer the UW for darker colors.
