  • Dirty windows

Hi I have a car with dirty windows "from going up and down". Normal window cleaner won't clean them. They are tinted, can I use colorX, or will that damage the tint.
    Thanks Shane.

When I say normal window cleaner I mean Meguiar's Perfect Clarity Glass Cleaner.

Try cleaning the area where the window goes down. It can get dirty. Roll the window down and use some sort of stick to run your microfiber into the area. Then you can go ahead and clean the glass like normal.

Yes I will try to clean inside the window frame, but the windows are stained with drag marks from the frame.

If the tint is the cheap plastic kind, the stain may be permanent. It could also be physical marring of the tint from dirt, etc. in the frame, in which case there is nothing you can do, short of a re-tint. While I am at it, most, if not all tint companies recommend only water and a MF cloth to clean their tint. Certain tints are susceptible to damage by chemical cleaners, particularly those with ammonia in them.
