  • Would Scratch X 2.0 work for this?

A lady ran over a branch that flew into my car. The paint is smooth at the damage area (below the headlight.) I was wondering if Scratch X 2.0 would work for it or should I jump to Ultimate Compound?

Ouch! Sorry to see the trouble. We are assuming you are going to be working by hand, and with that being said, Ultimate Compound may be able to remove some of the scuff, but we imagine this is going to require at least a dual action polisher with an aggressive cutting pad to fully remove.

If working by hand, it would be best to apply with a soft foam applicator pad, keeping your hand flat, with moderate pressure, in circular overlapping motions. You can apply our Ultimate Compound as many as 5 or 6 times or so in any particular area how we have mentioned above, working in for about a minute at a time, but after that, continued applications won't improve the results and it will need likely require a machine. Keep in mind you are working right on an edge, so unfortunately the risk goes up for repair since there has already been some paint removed by the damage.

Hit by a branch? Must have been some branch. Since a branch would not leave white scuff marks, it looks to me like those are deep scratches down to the white rubber underneath the paint, and if that is the case, nothing is going to polish those marks out.
