  • Wheels/rims.. is this oxidation or dirt?

Bought some used wheels and I couldn't get rid of the foggyness and this weird brown/yellowish stuff off with a standard wash. Is it oxidation or grime/pollutants that sat on the wheels too long?
    What's my solution?

It looks like oxidation or a coating breakdown to me. Plain dirt should have come off with a good washing. You could try some Mequiar's chrome polish (if they are chrome..I can't tell) or some Ultimate Compound if they are clear coated, and see if that helps. I had a few spots I couldn't get off my chrome wheels with just washing, and the chrome cleaner/polish was excellent. Those look bad to me. Not sure if anything will help. Good luck.

Tried rubbing it with Meguiar Ultimate Compound without any luck. Also tried claybar but that didn't do anything either.

Seems the previous owner had them sitting out in the backyard for months or maybe years without wash.

Looks like corrosion. If it is then the only fix is to have them redone.
