Whoops, typo. Indeed, D115, not D155. Sorry, Eldo! D115 is the bulk version of UWWA, or it may be the other way around, that UWWA is the consumer version of D115. Either way, the stuff is a ticket to freedom from too much washing and/or QD-wiping. Thanks, Ray!

I think you meant to say D115 is the same as UWWA. I never said D155 is the same as UWWA

Re: Ultimate Wash and Wax Anywhere

Blue, I had the same kinds of reservations, as it didn't make sense to me at first how I would use this product. It may help to focus on the operative term "waterless" in the product type. A regular wash for me using water means water spots, and dealing with water spots on black is one of those things in life best avoided. Spots are particularly demoralizing after a full bucket wash. If I go to a spray wash in more of an "emergency", the spots are avoided by a short drive to drip the excess water and then a wipe down in a parking lot using UWWA/D115. If I wash at home, I use the blower promptly to fully dry everything and avoid any spots. Either way, proper washing is inconvenient work.

Also, the mixture in UWWA/D115 is key, though difficult to describe - slick, viscous, milky, perhaps, but not oily like QD or waxy like QW or soapy like other choices. With an SS towel it lifts and grabs the dirt and grime and oil residues and leaves a swirl-reducing shine (and a day or two worth of protection), but does not need buffing or extra wiping to remove wipe holograms or smears. I've cleaned up the car many times now with UWWA when it was past that "level" I mentioned and really needed a bucket wash, but I was on a trip or didn't have daylight. However, 20 minutes later, I had a clean car and only a slightly dirty SS towel (and a purple-candy scent making the car and myself smell nice). So, think of those times when you have grime on the lower portions of the car from driving on a damp road, when you have light tree sap or film, bird droppings, or other residue from rain/weather, times you'd use the duster and then see holograms from that dusting, and even times when the car is just plain dirty.

I think once you try it you'll see what we mean. If you have tried it and weren't blown away, then it may have been the specific conditions or expectations. There are only a few products I rave about, and this is one of them, because it made detailing a black daily driver fun and easy (see some of my posts from 2014 when I was moaning about wipe holograms and the like from QD/QW in humid conditions, or water spots before I got the blower). As a note, I'm still using UWWA rather than D115, but Eldorado assures us D155 is exactly the same stuff, except for a blue tint, and I think D115 doesn't have the purple-candy scent.

Yes, well said, DasBurninator, however each to their own. It wouldn't work for me. House hoses are hut off for the winter to avoid freezing, and the coin spray is a fair distance from my home and so the car would be covered on the sids by a mix of salt and sand. Maybe it will be worth a try come summer.

I keep a bottle in the trunk with some SS towels, and use it for any level of dirtiness up to that point where you would normally think "I'd kinda like to wash the car", but not so dirty as to be wasting your time without a true bucket wash - you'll learn that level. I also use it for quick detailing in place of GCQD (I now use that more as a pre-cleaner, and as a clay and sanding lube), and I use UWWA as a temporary wax booster. I do follow UWWA with GCQW when I have time.

    1) If it is too cold to be dealing with a two bucket wash I can spray it off real quick and then bring the car in the garage to finish with a WW.
    2) Not double the time or expense. Time taken for a bucket wash is about double what it takes me to stop at the spray wash on the way home, spray the car off for 2 minutes then another 10-15 for a WW. No cleanup time. Product cost is cheaper especially if you are using more concentrated WW products instead of an RTU.
    3) Not risky with proper technique. This category of products is much safer than a QD for removing dirt. It isn't for the dirtiest of cars, but there are ways to work around that.

In general I use WW products more for lighter dirt and use RW when it is dirtier like from road salt. You still have to use caution and knock off any larger stuff before hand, but they are both MASSIVE time savers for maintenance washes and washes when it is too cold outside.

Yes, I can see some use in that case, if I had some light summer dusting on the car, but I still would not use it as a full "wash". If I have to take it to "the spray wash" as Dasburiniator says, I may as well give it a full wash. What is the point of paying for a spray wash, and coming home and doing a waterless wash? Double the time and double the expense, and a risky practice IMHO. . Anyway, it was just a thought and not a product I will use. Call me old school or just cautious.

Incidentally the name is deceiving. Check the dictionary for the meaning of wash. :

"to clean with water and, typically, soap or detergent".

A more appropriate name would be Ultimate Wipedown and Wax.

The pictures of Michael using the product shows him basically wiping black dust off the car. At least that is what it looks like on the towel. Sorry, but there is no way I would use this stuff to wash my car. The name Wash Anywhere is really deceiving. Maybe you boys in So. Cal. can get away with a product like that, but here is the salty north, it is water and suds to wash a car.
The name isn't deceiving at all, as it does exactly what the product name implies.

There is a trick to using WW/RW products if the car is heavily soiled like salt, etc.

If the car is too dirty for a WW, then you can take it to the spray wash just to knock off any heavy dirt. Then proceed to do the WW as directed. I do this all winter long on all of my vehicles and they get exposed to plenty of mag chloride, etc. It is a great option if you can't perform a proper 2 bucket wash in the winter. Hell even in the summer I find myself using WW/RW products more often than not. It is MUCH faster.

I am still a big fan of a wash with D114 followed up with top off of D156 ... my go-to clean method.

Thank you a Ton Nicholas! This is just so awesome that Megs has so much to offer in the Ultimate Line. I mean every line you guys offer is awesome, but Ultimate really covers all the bases for me. And now that the New leather Balm is coming out for the series, I think that really does cover all the surfaces inside and out of the car. Except for one. The Antenna! lol

    Have a good one man!
