  • Ultimate Protectant Maintenance

For those of you who have used, or do use, Ultimate Protectant for your interior protectant on your vinyl, plastic and rubber. What have you, or do you do for regular maintenance for the product say, weekly and monthly?

How often do you guys reapply more UP, or recommend to?

I am noticing that with UP, that I might want to add more product more often to keep the gloss goin.

    Thanks all!

Hmmm, I'm wondering how I can word this better. Ahh, never mind, I'll just do it how I have been with other interior protectants.

      Re: Ultimate Protectant Maintenance

I use two different processes for the interiors of the family fleet. All get a serious interior cleaning/dressing no more than twice yearly. Most of them get UQD whenever necessary. I hate to mention this here, but for my DD Lacrosse and garage queen El Camino, I use Optimum OptiClean regularly as a maintenance product, since it doesn't compromise the UP coating. UQD is a great product for the other cars in the fleet, but it does reduce the moderate gloss of UP, at least IMO.

        Thank you BillyJack!

Just seeing if anyone else out there currently uses, or has used UP, and what you do to keep up with maintenance with it.

        Thank you!

I don't use anything to maintain it. I will reapply when I notice the dash needing a fresh application. I will sometimes use quik interior detailer to remove any light dist. The light cleaning ability will break down the protectant but that's not an issue for me as I reapply a protectant monthly.

Perfect! Thanks Guz! You always come through man!

I used a foam applicator the first time. This time I used a microfiber applicator. Man, It seems like the mf applicator really put it on thick! At least a lot more than the foam one.

              Re: Ultimate Protectant Maintenance

Now that this thread came up again, I see I had a typo. What I intended to post was Quick Interior Detailer (QID), not UQD. QID has some decent cleaners, plus adds some protection on its own.
              Sorry!
