After using White Wax I am considering applying ULW to top it. Will the ULW adhere well to the paint even though WW is a wax also? Or will the white wax affect the ULW's durability?
My outlook is if one is going to use a cleaner wax and top it, why not just polish.
One option is to follow up with some ultimate quik wax or D156 after using white wax. Topping white wax with any other sealant will affect it's longevity. It is hard to say by how much.
Are you planning to use white wax by machine or by hand?

It does seem to be a logical process, however I personally prefer to use a cleaner wax such as ColorX (when I can find it) because, in my experience, it is far easier to work with than Meguiar's Ultimate Polish. You can let a cleaner wax dry, go have a beer, whatever, but if that polish happens to dry, it is a pain to get off. Plus, if by chance one misses a spot with the final wax, chances are the cleaner wax will be on that spot. I will only use polish, if, during a spot correction, my UC has left a slight haze. I would never consider using UP on a whole car. Just my experience and preference.

To each there own. Some of detailing comes down to preference and knowing what works for you.
Just to comment on a couple of things though.
UC may leave haze, it is meant to be followed up with a Polish, or an AIO to remove the haze.
Polish residue being too difficult to remove can by either letting it dry before wipe-off, or if it was over worked it can create difficulties. If you use too much polish and let it dry
Using a bit of detail spray or D114 to remove the polish that has dried makes it much easier to remove.
Polishes are meant to be wiped off immediately with few exceptions.
My mentality is the same as Guz. It is pointless to top an AIO when you can use a polish like M205/UP to get the job done and will leave the surface ready for something like UPW/ULW that bonds to bare paint.
Better longevity wins out every time in my book.
I keep AIO's around for when I am doing a quick 1 step on someone elses car or I am being lazy on mine. I don't top them unless its a quick final wipe with D156 to boost it.
The reason I was thinking about doing the White Wax and then the ULW. Is because I wanted to shorten the steps, since I don't have much time to do my Dad's car.
His car is like a Red Metallic, and I can see swirls, but they aren't that bad. I wanted to use the White Wax to deal with those light swirls and then top it off with a durable Sealant like ULW. Which I like VERY much, for some more durable protection.
I could UC it then ULW it, but I've tried that in the past, and it just doesn't look as good without doing the polish step in between.
I guess I'm probably going to have to bite the bullet and just do all three steps. I will be using a DA for the first time ever. The HF DA with the MEgs 5" backing plate, along with the 5" soft foam Compound, Polish, and Finshing pads.
If anyone knows a quicker(less steps) way to get rid of the swirls while adding durable protection, I am all ears. I know THE BEST results come from doing all three steps, but I don't have much time this weekend.

Follow this write up and you will be just fine if you go with white wax
Of course. Each to their own. At my friends house, over there, if I wax their car, I use their wax.
However, if I am not over there, and they bring their car over, I will use my wax.
Finally, I know polishes are meant to be wiped off immediately. This is not my first rodeo.

Cool, btw after using the Trim Restorer about 3 days ago now, it has either rained or snowed each day with a lot of salt on the ground to test that product out. I know these are NOT ideal conditions for the product, but for my testing purposes, this will be interesting to see how it does. So far everything is just running right off of it. I did take before's and afters, so will post soon.
