Hi there. Can anyone help me with this. I have light scratches and swirl marks all over my car. I just got my car back from the body shop and it looks worst then when i took it in. I just purchased #83 because i tried using other non aggressive products and its not working. So i purchased the #83. Now from reading the other ehtries, should i use the #80 first before i try the #83? THe vehicle is a black Mercedes. I was also needing help on getting waterspots of my windows, windshield, and outside mirrors. I also got a bit of wax on the vinyl areas. Need help in getting that off. Please help. Thanks

This is sad. Can we talk you into taking some before and after pictures of your car and the scratches?

Meguiar's has been teaching the below philosophy for over 100 years and it's just as relevant today, if not more so than it was in 1901...

"Always use the least aggressive product to get the job done"

So yes, try M80 Speed Glaze first in small section about a foot squared or so and then inspect to see if it's working, if it is then use M80 over the entire car, if not then test M83 followed by M80 in the same section and inspect. Make sure you can make a small area look good before attempting to fix the entire car.

M39 Vinyl Cleaner for cleaning trim using our new Triple Duty Detail brush works wonders.

For removing water spots of glass, M04 Heavy Cut Cleaner applied with a piece of terry cloth toweling and some passion will do the trick.

I am waiting for the products to arrive. It will be in sometime next week. So i will work on my car as soon as i get the products and i will include some before and after pictures. Maybe i am doing something wrong. Also at the moment i am using the Gold Class shampoo & conditioner. Between the NXT and the GOld Class which product gives the best result? ALso between the 2 liquid wax product. I have used the NXT Tech wax and i love it. But i feel that i am not getting as much shine or glossiness as i would like.

Hi Kenny,

The Gold Class Car Wash is our top shelf car wash, it offers the most lubricity and conditioning and glossing agents. It doesn't offer the sudsing NXT Car Wash offers. NXT Car Wash is also a very, very good car wash, I actually prefer for my own preferences, it cleans really well and offers lots or suds, something I personally like when I wash a car. You can't go wrong with either one. If you want the very best for a car finish you take meticulous car of, opt of the Gold Class Car Wash.

As far as waxes go, the best thing you can do is to try a different wax on one half of the hood, apply two thin coats of each wax, one on each side and then inspect that day and in the next couple of days to see which look you prefer.

For black paint, Meguiar's Gold Class Clear Coat Wax, M26 Hi Tech Yellow wax are pretty hard to beat when it comes to creating a finish that looks like a pool of black oil.

I like NXT Tech Wax for that but everyone's viewpoint is different.

Thanks for all the help and advice. One last thing though. I had bought the 3 set foam pads for my Dual Action Polisher. Is there any way i can clean the foam pads that i used once for the deep crystal products? Instead of buying new ones i wanted to use the 2 foam pads for the #83 and #80. Or would it be ok to just use them since i only used them less than 3 times? I know you aren't suppose to have the chemicals mix. So besides that thanks for your help Mike.

I understand what you're saying, while we don't recommend cross-contaminating chemicals onto pads, at the same time, these pads are virtually brand new. If they are dry, slap the face of them with your hand to break up any dried residue and then brush the faces of them with nylon brush, like an old toothbrush and you should be set to go.

The tape we used to tape off components and trim is called Blue Painters Tape and you can purchase it at most paint stores and places like Home Depot etc.
