  • Correction After Applying Ultimate Liquid Wax

I did a full coat of Black Wax on my car with the DA and a polishing pad a couple of months ago for correction and protection. Before the winter really starts (if it even does this year), I decided to apply a coat of ULW by hand the other day and car looks great and the surface is ridiculously slick.

I did notice a few light individual scratch/swirl lines a few days after. My usual technique with these is to fix them by hand with a quick application of Black Wax. A couple of questions with this situation: Would it be ok to just apply and remove the black wax in spots, or is it worth it to then apply ULW over the corrected spots afterwards to keep the same level of protection over the whole car? Is the Black Wax basically removing the ULW in that spot when doing the correction?

    Thanks.

The cleaners and polish in Black Wax will remove the ULW when doing the correction.

My personal preference in a situation like this is to use a pure polish like M205 or UP vs an AIO. You aren't leaving anything that would interfere with bonding of the ULW at that point. Not to say that you can't top Black Wax with ULW, you just may see it not last as long.

      Thanks.
This is personal preference. I guess it would depend on how large of an area you are working on.

Cool, thanks guys. I wasn't 100% sure the Black Wax would remove the ULW. They're not big spots so I'll probably le it with the Black Wax.

Yep, just Black Wax on the isolated spots, then UW over those same spots would be totally fine.

We can go out for a drive without her makeup and she looks fine. If I want to take the black one out, it is three or four hours in the "bathroom" to get ready.
