Yes, Meguiar's A12 Cleaner Wax will remove existing polishing oils & wax, this is due to the product's mild cleaning ability.

Meguiar's recommends applying all of our waxes at least 3 - 4 times a year, and at best every 2 or 3 months. Cleaner Wax is great product with great protection, but it is not necessarily our most premium or most durable wax we offer, so within those minimum recommendations, we would suggest applying it every couple of months. We suggest also keeping in mind any variables in your particular area or your particular maintenance habits, stored outside vs. garage kept, how often is the car washed, outside weather environment. These can all affect the durability of any wax protectant.

We hope this information was helpful. Feel free to ask any more questions.
