Dirt won't come off!

Hey guys, new to the forum here. Been learning a lot from you guys the past few weeks.

So my wife ran into a ditch where they were doing construction and it looks like it left some dirt on the paint. I cannot get it off. I've tried a tar remover and a clay bar and it's done nothing.

Picture in the link below. Any ideas how to get this off? I think it's dirt but not quite sure.

Welcome to Meguiar's Online. We would agree it is tough to tell what the substance is from the picture provided, but even though it may look like dirt, if it is not coming off very easily, it likely has some type of petroleum base to it. Typically your average over the counter bug & tar removers are going to be fairly mild. We typically suggest in these situations to use a automotive paint safe solvent or "body solvent." We don't have a specific product recommendation for you, but these types of products can be obtained from an auto body or automotive paint supply store, and are designed to remove petroleum based substances off of an automotive paint system safely.
