  • Chips in front of the rear wheel well. Options?

    Hello everyone,

I have been noticing my 2014 Buick Regal has been getting a very small peppering of what appear to be rock chips on the front side of the rear wheel wells. I think it is because they ever so slightly stick out so in rain or snow and debris can hit them. My question is A from the looks of it is this what I think it is, and B is there anything I can do to at least lessen the damage detailing-wise of not? Do they sell clear bra patches or something for the spot I could use?

    Thanks

On many new vehicles there is a decal/sticker in that location to help prevent chipping.

I know I have seen that on many other cars, but of course this one does not have that. All I have been able to find are rolls of clear bra, but not smaller patches. By the same token I would probably have to do the entire area going up the wheel well as well because there are some chips up there as well.

        Looks like paint.

          The Guz,

You mean like paint over spray? Or possibly from a road line?

I've sometimes wondered what they are for... now I know!

We can go out for a drive without her makeup and she looks fine. If I want to take the black one out, it is three or four hours in the "bathroom" to get ready.

Possibly road paint. Have you tried to clay to see if it's paint or chips?
