What Did I Do??

I thought I was doing a good thing putting on a vinyl/leather like nose bra.... for my 2100 mile trip.... but then it rained everyday.
As soon as we got home I removed it & washed the vehicle and got a sick to my stomach feeling looking at the front of the car.
Was the clear coat sanded by the rubbing of the bra against the paint,.... cause its a cloudy mess.
I have done the following so far...
clayed it
M 105 & 205
and tried a compound too

all done with a PC7424XP using Lake Country 6.5 pads. Orange, White, & Grey.

It's better, but not 100% . cloudy splotches along leading edge of hood 2-3 inches in.... Now mainly visable with a light at a angle across the paint....

Post up some pictures of the damage. It will be easier to recommend how to address the issue if we can see it.

Hood bra's usually aren't the best thing for paint. They allow dirt behind them to get trapped and then rub between the bra and the paint itself.
