i sent you a link of the part of the car this is not my car but it is on the front black part of the car in the center
Well, have had the car over a month, and only been able to drive it 3 times due to the weather. So I sat home and detailed it - there are now 14 coats of wax on it! Finally, I had a good day where the rain had come and washed away the salt and the sun had come out. So, what better than a...

I'm not mike, but Meg's QD or #34 Final Inspection should make short work of removing the smears. Make sure you use either a supreme shine microfiber or ultimate wipe to apply. That is the one bad thing about buying a car at a dealer, they always insist on "prepping" it. Good luck, and you have a beauitful lotus.

A little off topick but that is one awesome car! I tried to post some of the photos here but no luck!

That is one car to show off! Can't beat that color... my mother works for someone who bought one recently and she had a chance to drive it and said it was a fun car!

A good general rule to remember is,

          "Like removes like"

Some of other suggestions here will probably work and or at least help, but one of the safest ways to remove this off your new baby would be to apply a gentle paint cleaner like Deep Crystal Paint Cleaner and then remove.

Another option would be to apply a pure polish like Deep Crystal Polish and then remove.

Another option would be to apply a wax like Gold Class, Deep Crystal Carnauba Wax, NXT, or M26, and then after drying remove.

The idea being to use one of the above product to gently re-liquefy whatever is on there, and then remove it.

Sorry I couldn't share this with you earlier, today was busy with our Saturday Detailing Class for the De Luz Cruisers, and then afterwards, we took two special guests that flew in from Colorado down to Newport Beach for dinner.

David and Manuel on the boardwalk in Newport Beach about a half hour ago...

Hey MrClean, make sure you keep us posted with the results of your efforts.

I was just about to ask if that was Valley Forge Park, but then I read the top of your post. Where in the park is that arch?

If you have Medallion Premium Paint cleaner, this will work fine. Shake the bottle really well before using it, then apply it to the affected area with a soft foam applicator pad. Remove after applying as you don't need to let paint cleaners dry.

Then apply a coating of wax. If that were my car I would be applying NXT Tech Wax, two thin coats and your car's paint will look wet.
