  • Help with deciding if the clear coat is recoverable

Hi, I'm new here and not a detailing professional. I have a 08' Mazda CX-7. I have neglected the paint and live in Texas. The car was not garaged the majority of its live. The hood was replaced in 09' after a hail storm. I don't know the detail language but the clear coat appears rough and oxidized with water stains and some tree sap. I washed it yesterday and used Meguiar's Cleaner Wax from the parts store. I applied and removed it three times with the supplied foam applicator and removed with microfiber cloth the first time and terry cloth( old towel) the other two. Please see the photo's. The white patches are from the flash on my phone. It is hard to capture what is going on but any suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks in advance. Evan

Hi Evman. It looks like your photos did not post. I'm not sure what steps you went through to upload them, but try this link if you need help.

I can't figure out how to edit my original post to add the pictures.

I can't see the pics either, but Cleaner Wax by hand isn't going to correct much at all.

We can go out for a drive without her makeup and she looks fine. If I want to take the black one out, it is three or four hours in the "bathroom" to get ready.
