  • What is the best Meguiar's products for black paint?

    Greetings everyone,

I am new to this forum, but not new to cars. I worked in the autobody field for 10 years much of which was rubbing out both fresh and old paint. The problem is that I retired in 1992! I am sure that much has changed since then.

I recently purchased a black 1962 Oldsmobile that was painted in 1985 with acrylic enamal. The car looks great from 10 feet, but up close it has the typical surface scratches that I am sure white compound will take care of.

I want the car's finish to look amazing! What products and process do you recommend? Also, I do not own a DA polisher.

I am sure this has been discussed in another thread, but I tried searching "black paint" and found nothing.

    Any help is appreciated!

I could get great results with M105 , M205 and M305. I used a rotary buffer with Meguiars W4000 Wool, Yellow and Black Foam pads. My paint is a fresh paint. I'm going to apply Meguiar's Black Wax after the paint is fully cured.

      Welcome to MOL.

Here's the other thread the op started. This should avoid some confusion.

Greetings everyone, I am new here, but I am not new to cars or to the industry. I worked in the autobody field for 10 years and a majority of that time was spent as a polisher/detail guy, rubbing out fresh paint as well as old finishes with an orbital polishing wheel. The problem is I retired from that in 1992! I am certain
