Hey guys, I'm looking to fix up the aftermarket gloss black stripes on my brother's Mustang. They're faded and somewhat swirled/stained. What would be the best product and technique for fixing these up?
I own a silver vehicle and a black vehicle owns me. The black one demands attention, washing, detailing, waxing and an occasional dinner out at a nice restaurant. The silver one demands nothing and it looks just fine. I think the black vehicle is taking advantage of me, and the silver car is more my style. We can go out for a drive without her makeup and she looks fine. If I want to take the black one out, it is three or four hours in the "bathroom" to get ready.
I'd start by hand with a cleaner wax test spot and see how that goes.
If needed, you can step it up to UP or UC gently by hand.
If that's still not working, you can try the same with the DAPS.

I'll definitely give that a try. I didn't know if any of the paint products would cause more damage or not on the vinyl. I know he tried another company's black trim restorer or something similar which made them look great for a few days, but afterwards the product wore off and all you see are the wipe lines from the application.
