I just tried the D114 and my first rinseless wash 2 days ago. I diluted 1 oz: 1 gallon distilled water. I used about 10 edgeless microfibers from RagCompany for the whole car, and 1 cheap Costco towel for the wheels/tires. Wash took about 1 hr.
I used Kwazar sprayer to presoak the panel I was gonna wash with 1:1 D114. I folded my soaked edgeless towels into 8 sides.....and then I folded it again...giving me about 16 wipes per towel. I wipe using one direction, no back and forth, and changing sides after each wipe. After the towel was done I discarded it into a clean bucket with grit guard and 1 oz of Microfiber Restore Wash. Initially I was drying after I clean each panel with another edgeless towel that was dry. However I didn't think it was an issue to dry after I was done with multiple panels. It was hot in the Desert out here even at night time, and the moisture on the car evaporates regardless. When I got to the wheels it was simple APC 4:1 on the tires, D114 1:1 on the wheels...and then Microfiber wipe the wheels...followed by brushing of the tires with a brush...and then wipe the tires dry with the same towel.
Conclusion:
- I enjoyed using distilled water and rinseless solution for the first time. No water spots
- The Ragcompany Towels are awesome
- I don't know if I put in any swirls or scratches even though its a black car. I just know it doesn't look any worst, and the car looks very clean.
- It may be easier to presoak using Kwazar Venus or something similar than a spray bottle.
- I am unsure how people are doing this type of wash in about 30 minutes or less, Unless they are not as careful as I was.
