  • GC Wash makes paint look darker?

While I'm waiting for the October class at McGuires, before slathering various waxes and polishes on my car, I still, naturally, have to wash it.
Based on everything I've read on these forums it seems like the Gold Class car wash would meet my needs. However, I do have one concern.

I keep reading various reports in these threads, by GC wash users, that it makes their paint look "darker".
Now I'm sure there's nothing in it that's dying the paint, so to speak, but what I want to know is if there is something in its formulation that makes it have that effect optically?

My '02 Sienna is what Toyota calls Super White. And all of what I am doing here is to keep it looking that way. I have no desire for it to "appear" to be bone or off white.

I have used several gallons of GC wash on my Ivory Pearl white G35 coupe and my Satin White Pearl over the years and it does not change the color as far as I can tell, I have no clue as to what this "darker" effect other users are seeing?
Maybe they spend soo much time washing, the sun sets and makes their cars appear darker??

LoL. Yeah I figured it was something like that. I'm sure if there was any real effect like that people with white cars would be screaming bloody murder all over this forum.
Unfortunately that piece of logic didn't hit me until I made the post. Kind of feel silly now.
Oh well. thanks for the reply and the joke.

Gold Class has gloss enhancers which will make the paint look shiny. Thus giving the appearance of the just waxed look. I don't know where all this "darker" thing is coming from. Anyway on white you won't notice that much of a change if it did make the paint appear "darker", which it will not do.

I'm going to get nit picky on you. It's Meguiar's and not McGuires. It's right at the top of the page, in the internet address bar and on the label .
