  • Left some dried Synth Wax on my car a few weeks ago. Now impossible to remove !

I think I did a Wash&Wax Anywhere (WAWA) and then a polish, and then a SynthWax.
I must have overlooked a few spots when I buffed out the dry wax.

    Now, it's like a stain.

I even dampened the area by applying WAWA again, but it still doesn't want to come out...
So, I applied polish again, and buffed it by hand applicator pad. STILL THERE.

Is this normal, or did I get a bad batch of wax?

We've seen plenty of different waxes that were accidentally left on the paint for several days and they've always been easy to remove. Well, provided they were applied in a properly thin coat anyway, but even a fairly heavy coat should still come off without too much trouble, especially when using a good waterless wash as a cleaning aid. And a polish should take it off easily.

You mentioned that you used SynthWax - what product specifically are you referring to, because we don't have a product with that name but one of our competitors has a very similarly named wax. Just curious.

Yea, it is mommie's Synthetic wax. Usually old wax can just be wiped away with a finger.
This was STUCK on, and scrubbing didn't get rid of it. It's almost like it's under the clearcoat.

Also, can someone change my user name to MFML ?

From my understanding this syn wax has cleaners in it and has a darkening effect on the paint. It's a cleaner sealant. Perhaps that is what you are seeing.

I know you tried polish with unpleasant results but did you try reapplying the Synthetic wax and buffing off.
          Like removes like.

Other than that I would email Mothers customer support

Which wax should I stick with to avoid this issue in the future?
Just gimme one. I don't want to think.

Meguiar's Paint Protect would get my vote. If you can't find that, Ultimate Liquid is top notch too.

As with all waxes and sealants apply thin. If you are looking for a Meguiar's sealant (synthetic wax), I would recommend M21 or Ultimate Wax. I'm 50/50 with Paint Protect.

Ultimate Liquid Wax no doubt. It won't stain trim, looks good on every color. Ultimate paste will stain trim.
Apply thin, wait a minute and wipe. I have done it this way and also the whole car then wiped.
It doesn't haze dry but if it sits too long it can streak. Some Ultimate detailer spray will even everything out if that were to happen.

I have sealed in the sun and shade with it. 95 percent of the time I wax/seal in the garage.
