I just purchased some D114 and can't wait to use it! I plan on making up a 32oz bottle and use the "Gary Dean" method. I'll probably make the solution 128:1 and see how it goes from there. My question...what's the shelf life of D114 once it's mixed? Does it breakdown? How often will I need to make a fresh batch of solution? Thanks!

Does D114 breakdown over time?

Re: Does D114 breakdown over time?
Not sure of an exact shelf life, but I can say that as long as you keep the bucket Gary Dean style it can last quite a long time. Just keep replenishing the mix with clean microfiber towels as needed. If you're using Megs Supreme Shines, I've found the best way to go is starting off with 15 folded towels mixed with 3 gallons of solution. Get yourself a gamma seal lid if you havn't already and you'll be set.
I've easily gone over a couple of months with the same mix and it stays fresh. The complete opposite happens if you allow dirty towels to marinate in the mixture..

Re: Does D114 breakdown over time?
D114, used as a rinseless wash, should be diluted 256:1 (two gallons of water, one ounce of D114). If you wish to experiment a bit like The Guz, that's more than fine by us, but give the recommended dilution a go first before you start playing around with ratios.Michael Stoops

Good point Mike. I have dialed in with what works for me. The recommended ratio is always a good place to start.

Re: Does D114 breakdown over time?
I just did a complete detail.
Pressure Washer Pre-Rince
Foam Cannon Pre-Soak
Soft Brush on difficult places during presoak
........
Foam Cannon Pre-Soak again...cause it is losing moisture and drying on the car
........
Pressure Washer Rince
2 bucket method with 1 Wash Mitt
.......
One side of the car is drying already.....cause it is too hot in the desert even though the sun is going down
.......
Finish 2 bucket wash
Pressure washer rince
Hose Flooding
Leaf Blower drying
Last Touch with Wet microfiber towel drying
= TOO MUCH WORK.
I think I'm gonna get myself a D114 and just Work in the closed garage .....it should save me a few steps in the wash process, especially with Garry-Dean Method...I can use 1 bucket Wash
