First time using Dual Action : Which one is better M105 or Ultimate Compound ?

Hello,

I am about to remove minor scratchs and swirls on my 3 year old car. No oxidation appeared.

Fortunately I have enough M105 ultra cut compound that my friend gave me. I ll be using the DA polisher.

My questions are :

Which one is better, pro line M105 or ultimate compound. What is the difference between them ?

Does it need Ultimate Polish after compounding ?

I use ult liquid wax and NXT speed detailer to maintain the gloss level.

Go with a test spot with the least aggressive method. You may not need to compound.

Try ultimate polish first with a polishing pad as your test spot. If you need more correction then move up to a compound.

Ultimate compound is derived from M105 and is more user friendly than M105. M105 has more cut than Ultimate compound.

Sometimes DA haze or micro marring is left behind when compounding. It's all dependent on how the paint reacts. A polish will clear that up. Also a polish is what gives the paint it's gloss.

What pads are you using?

Meguiars W7207 is the pad that I have now. Can I use the pad with Ult Polish ?

I used Swirls X and was applied by hand. this will be my first time working with a machine.

Try the Ultimate Polish with a Yellow polishing pad.

what i do mix little 205 and a little compound then see my correction, and go from there add more 205 as you go compound is more aggressive. yes and use a yellow foam pad.
