  • NXT tech protect question

    Hi from Italy,
I'm just back from my car dealership and I have a question. The mechanic fixed me some plastic noises that came from the dashboard but he sad to me that this noises where caused by the use of a dashboard cleaner that probably made the plastic hard. I told him that I use only meguiar's product but he didn't care... Is it true, does tech protect make the plastic hard increasing the risk of noises?
    Sorry for the english...
    Regards

No, what he said is untrue, or false.

Sounds like he's taking the easy way out of placing the blame where it doesn't belong. Noise from inside the car will come from something rubbing against something else. The top of your dash, (the place you're applying a dressing), shouldn't be coming into contact with anything as you're driving the car to create noise.

Ask him to show you where the noise is coming from?

If he shows or points to the dash, ask him to show you how the top of the dash is making noise when nothing is coming into contact with it.

Meguiar's vinyl dressings condition and protect vinyl to keep it beautiful and prevent it from deteriorating. Meguiar's chemists would never create a product that would knowingly harm the surface the product was intended to be applied to.

Sometimes you just have to place your trust in the name on the bottle.

He told me that the product get inside where the pastic parts are mounted togheter. I think that he told this because he had no idea how to fix the problem...

If anything, a dressing would act like a lubricant to reduce friction between components, not add to the friction and thus the noise problem.
