  • Black Overspray on a White Tundra

Can anyone please lead me in the right direction on How to Remove This Stupid Overspray from my White 2012 Tundra? Any help and advice would greatly be appreciated. Thanks,Greg

Clay generally works very well for this, but depending on how severe the amount of overspray you may find that any consumer clay is not quite up to the task. Our professional blue clay, part number C2000, is quite a bit more aggressive and will get the job done faster. You won't generally find it at your local auto parts store, however, so it may have to be ordered online.

Thanks for your time and help I hope that I can get it removed because I have never used a Clay Bar. I also want to polish and buff the whole truck just never have used anything like a buffer or anything. So hopefully I can get it right. Thanks,Greg

Yeah, clay is where to start... maybe if you can share a pic of how bad it is, or how fresh...

Claying is very easy, and removes much more dirt that just overspray... but paint can of course be bonded on well, so a bit of room to judge which to choose.

Clay is definitely the way to go but just make sure to heavily lubricate the clay (quick detailing spray or soap suds in a bucket). If it is really severe it might be helpful to use one of the clay mitts from nanoskin. If you want additional guidance a photo will help. Good luck.

while clay seems to be a good choice….I'd like to understand what the overspray product is? Paint? Tar? Undercoating? Etc?

I think it maybe some overspray from a spray-in bedliner not 100% sure but it was on the truck when I bought it and I thought I could remove it easily but I was sadly mistaken.
