Regular use of UQD and UQW on my Wax job....

Hello all.

I do have a question regarding the amount of use of UQD and UQW.

Since getting my new (used) Dodge Journey, I have been enjoying keeping her really clean and shiny on all fronts. I had first put on a coat of Meguiar's Gold Class Carnauba wax, and about a month later, I put on a layer of Ultimate Liquid Wax (what an amazing product).
I like to "clean" off my Journey about every two days (dust build up depending) with UQD. And maybe once/twice a week I'll do a follow up with the UQW.
My question is, if I'm using this much regular application of UQD, and occasional use of UQW, is the friction caused by my regular use of these "maintenance" products going to wear down my wax coats quicker?

It shouldn't, the products are high lubricity, which is why UQD isn't any good for claying, it's too slippery. Add to that they both leave small amounts (the UQW leaves more) of the same polymers found in the Ultimate waxes.

I wrote this article a year or so before I started working for Meguiar's and it addresses your exact question: How to maintain your car's finish in-between polishing sessions

Now, this article talks about one year going by between a full detailing session and regular (almost daily) maintenance with Ultimate Quik Detailer. This article dates back to 2008 with the detailing process having been done in 2007 so Ultimate Quik Wax didn't yet exist, nor did Ultimate Wash & Wax Anywhere, D114 Rinse Free Express Wash, or D115 Rinse Free Express Wash and Wax. I use those products these days, but with the same maintenance routine. I can tell you that after this article was written in 2008 I went another 4 years - 4 years!! - before having to machine polish this car again, and even then it was just with M205 to remove some very light swirls here and there. This car remains a daily driver for me and it's now 11 years old with just shy of 100,000 miles on the clock and it really doesn't look any different today.

Thank you both, that's great. I can continue with my regular maintenance.

Now my only problem left is getting rid of the swirl marks eventually. The car was purchased used after 1 year (so I'm not responsible for what was there before hand, but it is my problem to rectify it now). I've tried doing UC by hand but to no avail. The car became smoother to the touch, but the swirl marks are still there. I'm not sure I can afford a DA, so I may have to live with them.
