I always wash my microfiber towels and cleaning/waxing pads after a detail, and this time was no different except my wife was trying to help me out and put 29 of them in the dryer with a fabric softener sheet. Is this a problem? Do I need to rewash that whole load?

Or like me who is thinking of something else , grabs the downy instead of the soap(both white bottles) and glugs it in the soap dispenser as the water is rinsing it in.
That wasted a couple hours of my time rewashing them.
They turned out fine.

Yup, rewash. Also...you're not washing the MF towels WITH the pads are you?.......good....didn't think so. ( wax residue will deposit on towels and leave you with a streaky nightmare).

Re: Uh oh! Washed towels and pads questions.
Rewash in hot/cold rinse and if your machine has one, go for the extra rinse cycle. The best way to dry them is to hang them out and let them air dry, second is in the dryer with no heat (tumble dry). I happen to dry them on the setting for cotton and they come out sticking to themselves and each other, but I've never had an issue with their performance washing them this way and they are the "cheapie" Sam's Club mf cloths.
I prefer the dryer because all the tumbling together and against the dryer's drum seems to soften them noticeably.Don

I am not setting a good example when I say this but I have washed both with Tide and set my washer on second rinse. Everything turned out fine... then again it was all set on a 2 hour cycle.Andy

A simple rewash is all that's needed. Here's a nice little tip, however, for routine washing; throw a cup of distilled white vinegar in the wash water to help break down any wax residue that might be in your pads or towels.Michael Stoops

Ugh! I'm going to have to rewash? It took forever to fold all of the towels! LOL Plus my wife is going to be upset again that she threw a dryer sheet in there.
And yes, I've been screwing up and washing my pads with the towels. I'll stop!2014 Mustang GT 6-Speed Manual
