I just got in a batch of the new Meguiars thin foam pads. I would love to hear from all of you on what is the best way to care for these pads to get the maximum life out of them.

Re: Caring for Pads
1) Use multiple pads for corrections/paint polishing. Avoid too much product which can lead to saturation of the pads which can cause overheating and ultimately pad failure. I tend to use 3 pads for doing a small to medium car for compounding or polishing.
2) They are machine washable, and can be dried in the dryer. I prefer to use as low a heat setting as possible for drying.
3) Use the backing pate made for the pads if at all possible. This will reduce heat to the pad, and ensure good grip on the pad surface.

Quick tip on removing white wax from a foam cutting disc. Will work with other pads as well.
It is a nightmare to remove not only from the Meguiar's pads. It took being soaked in some citrus pad cleaner over night to loosen some of the product and that still didn't help. I then used APC with a pad brush and that worked a little but I had to go with dish soap and a pad brush to remove as much of the product within the pad. I then rinsed all the dish soap out, wring them out and let them sit on a towel as they dry or on a grit guard.
