  • Shampoo/Wash Suggestions

i have a new white 2015 Toyota 4Runner that I have been babying. I 2-bucket wash, clay and use Paint Protect 365 on it. Doesn't have any scratches or swirls yet. I need to start buying my shampoo/soap in a larger 1-gallon container. The 64 oz. Meguiars Gold Class just isn't lasting me very long. Can someone suggest a Meguiars shampoo that comes in a 1-Gallon size? I do not need a waterless wash... just a plain old shampoo.

I have seen D110 Hyperwash and D111 Shampoo. What the difference? You guys/gals use this stuff so I would love to hear your comments. THANKS

I have D111. It works really well. Longer lasting suds than Gold Class. D110 Hyperwash is much more concentrated and really the bang for buck even compared to D111.

If you are looking for stretching a gallon as long as possible then Hyperwash would be my choice. It has a 400:1 dilution ratio.

I agree. I have used both and both are good. But if I had to choose one it would be D110 Hyperwash. The dilution alone is very cost effective. Can't really go wrong with either.

I personally use the D111 shampoo plus and i love it. It has great lubricity , washes very well and leaves behind a very nice shine compared to the consumer line products.I previously used the ultimate wash and wax and i prefer this hands down. I pamper my Tacoma and it really helps the red paint pop after a wash, it all most gives a just waxed look to the paint. It smells ok i think thats the only area where the consumer line products win is in the scent catergory.

OK guys thanks for the information so far.
I guess I need some clarification on what the difference is between the two products D100/D111 besides perhaps the dilution ratio.

From what I can tell D111 has gloss boosters, D110 does not, but D110 has a much higher dilution ratio

D111 reminded me a lot of Gold Class. I thought it had more suds and a little more lubricity than Gold Class by just a tad. It does have gloss enhancers like Gold Class. The suds will last the entire wash. Works good in a foam gun is decent in a foam cannon. Dilution ratio is 1 oz/gallon. It will last you awhile

I just recently bought D110 and I like it a lot. To me it seems a little thicker than D111. I also notice it has more lubricity and more suds. Suds will last the entire wash. Has a nice smell to it. Works excellent in a foam gun and foam cannon. Dilution ration is 400:1 so in essence 1 oz to 4 gallons of water. Makes this much more cost effective at this dilution ratio. As far as I know this doesn't have any gloss enhancers.

It's hard to say which is better. Both clean well and get the job done. But for me personally I like D110 much more than D111.

Don't forget that there is also M62 in the mirror glaze line.

D110. Guz sent me a little bit to try out, and I fell in love with it. The dilution ratio, the smell, the everything was great. I have used it in a 2BM, a foam gun, and a foam cannon...great results from all 3. I ended up picking up a gallon from the sale over at AG last week, it should last me a very long time...very cost efficient.

OP have you also considered a waterless D115? If you've been babying it like you said, a quik detail of D115 is also worth considering. I am personally a convert, thinking why stop the 2BM if i enjoy it.. Got D115 as an add-on, and now its taken over.

                    Re: Shampoo/Wash Suggestions

I've gone through over a half gallon of D111 and it's great, the smell is the best of any car shampoo I've ever tried.. But lately I've been thinking of what it was about Gold Class that I used to love so much..

So I tried Gold Class again for the 1st time in a long time. And while Shampoo Plus wins the scent battle, IMO Gold Class wins everywhere else. The consistency of the suds/water feels a bit thicker, and the lubricity seems a bit better. Gold Class Shampoo opened my eyes to the quality of Meguiars over 18 yrs. ago. It's just plain great stuff.
