    I think its for peel and stick sanding disks - is this correct? (http://buycarsstuff.com/product/astr...a-backing-pad/)

    It looks to b a regular backing plate for both foam pads for detailing and sanding.

      I'd say PU is the material it's made from (Polyurethane).

      I'm pretty sure PSA refers to adhesive backed discs (or 'peel and stick') as opposed to hook and loop. Don't know why they're referred to as PSA and not PAS (peel and stick).

          Industry jargon for peel-and-stick.
