  • Bug protections and stuff - sorry for the rehash -

Hi all - I have searched the forum and heard/read the following:

To protect your bumper and hood - NXT/ a good wax for protection...

For removal, I saw the 'Bounce' dryer sheet trick.

I have to drive from Greensboro, NC to Jacksonville FL and will be there for two weeks - I will take the car to a coin operated car wash as soon as I can to remove the bugs while there - hit it with Quickwax and the same or more as needed, on my return.

Is there anything else that can be done?...... thanks for any input...

I drive up the interstate 20miles each way back and forth everyday. Living in swamp land, I get my fair share of bugs. Anyway, I think as long as you keep the car regularly clayed and waxed, so that the paint is glass smooth, the bugs wipe off with ease, with a quick spritz of a QD... My personal fav is D115 diluted to 8:1, (but any with good lubricity will do) if it was a big bug with lots of guts splashed across the front bumper I'll use it at 4:1. This also tops it up with a coat of wax for the next day A quick 30 secs is all it takes every time i pull into the garage. (of course, i then go on to do the rest of the car) but that's just me...
