  • Help me mini detailing my car

    Hello

I want renew the protection on my car.

This is the steps i think to do:

    1. Snow foam (Honeydew) with FM50 + cleaning rims+ rinse
    2. washing the car ( Citrus W&G) - 2 method buckets + rinse
3.Clay lube (ONR) + Clay mitt = rinse + drying car complete
4.German Applicator (white side) + auto finesse tripple
5.Foam pad + Menzerna power lock
6.Foam pad + Menzrena colour lock
    7.Wheels- meguiar's endurance
8.Trims\ Plastic exterior - auto finesse revive

    Questions:

    1. How is the steps ? Anything i need to change?
    2. How the combo: tripple + power lock+ colour lock ?

    Thank you

Re: Help me mini detailing my car

So basically you are proposing to:

    1. Foam
    2. Wash
    3. Clay and dry
    4. Cleaner wax (or AIO)
    5. Sealant
    6. Carnauba wax
    7. Dress the tires (not wheels)
    8. Dress the trim / exterior plastics

It's not a very conventional set of steps, but would work for some situations.

Are you trying to remove defects / swirls etc? You probably won't achieve that, unless your paint is quite soft.

    Generally, you'd want to:

    1. Foam (optional)
    2. Wash
    3. Clay (no need to dry)
    4. Compound and/or polish
    5. Sealant
    6. Carnauba wax (optional)
    7. Dress the tires (not wheels)
    8. Dress the trim / exterior plastics

We can go out for a drive without her makeup and she looks fine. If I want to take the black one out, it is three or four hours in the "bathroom" to get ready.

      Thank you

      I don't quite understand you.

What is wrong with my steps?

        4. Cleaner wax.

This will do a poor job cleaning, and a poor job sealing, but will indeed do both in one step, which is the benefit of an AIO cleaner wax. But, if you are adding a sealant afterwards anyway, you don't need the protection, so instead of a cleaner wax you should use a polish (how aggressive you need depends on how bad the surface is). For the same amount of work, you'll get better cleaning and correction as the product is dedicated to that only, and you're following up with a dedicated sealant anyway so you don't need the protection from your #4.
