  • Finally got to use my D115 tonight. LUV the stuff !

So after a delayed order, i finally rec'd my D115. Quickly went about making two concentrations 1:4 and 1:8 into 32oz sprayers along with some distilled water. It took me about 90mins to do two cars, PROPER JOB, top to bottom and only needed to use about 6 microfibers, Cleaned everything including, windows and even the inside of the wheels. Neither very dirty, and cos i keep on top of them, their insides were spotless, so that saved time. However both had been thru two days of showers after a 2 bucket clean last weekend, so really just in need to get all the crud off them that was kicked up by the wet roads.

All in all, I used about 10oz of my 1:8 sprayer for each car. Which included all the door jams, inside the actual wheels. The whole 9 yards. Both look like they've just come out the showroom, except better. Cos they were recently clayed, and waxed a few weeks back, and the D115 makes it look and feel like it was only done yesterday. This stuff works wonders, makes the paint so slick, super smooth just as if i've just clayed the car... Really really happy with the results. I think I'll keep the 1:4 for the wheels, and the 1:8 for the paint as it seems to work very well at that dilution.

Great product Meguiars. 10/10 !!!!! I guess I've been sold on the waterless. There i was saying a few posts down, i'll stick to the 2 bucket wash, cos i enjoy it... Not so sure now.

    That's great to hear

I too have found myself liking waterless wash with D115 over traditional 2BM lately.

Did you use 1 towel to apply and dry? Or did you use 1 towel to apply/clean, and another dry clean towel to dry/buff off? I find it works alot better if a separate towel is used to dry off.

Thanks for the review. That's great that you like D115 so much.

Personally, I think 6 towels between 2 cars is not quite enough, but then again I didn't see how clean / dirty the cars were. What color are the cars? Did you notice any new marring or swirls?

We can go out for a drive without her makeup and she looks fine. If I want to take the black one out, it is three or four hours in the "bathroom" to get ready.

I'd previously washed the cars last weekend, but both had been driven through a shower or two, and had the typical splash stains and crud associated with driving thru a shower. So they were not too dirty. I used a MF folded into four, and started off trying to use each fold for a good three of four swipes. But soon as i realized the MF wasn't getting too dirty, i just continued using it, folding it over and over, til it became noticeably dirty. Once it looked too dirty for paint, i left it for the door jams, inside of the wheels and wheel arches and, which are as always typically the most dirty.

I did the windows first as the dryer the MF the better buff I got. I thing i did find is using the sprayer caused overspray, so i need to find a better setting. For example, i may of buffed a window to perfection, then spraying the door, i got more fine spray on the window again... I have a different pump sprayer that i'll give a go this weekend.

But what amazed me is how smooth the paint was afterwards. No marring whatsoever, and that i used far less MF's that i thought I was going to need too. Again I never let me cars get to a state anyway.

I also have some D114 on its way, but not sure I'll need it. Perhaps i'll use it when the cars get a little dirtier, and are in need of a rinseless over a waterless.

One of the great things about using the D115 is that you don't have to keep going back to the car to wipe up any drip marks, that no matter how much you dry, appear, if using a hose from the wing mirrors or door handles. Thus allowing you to immediatly drive it.. Whereas after a hose wash, I always wait an hr so that the water that's hidden dries off, and doesn't spray along the side of the car, once it starts moving.
