Re: First time clay baring
This comment leads us to assume that you're making a very common mistake when removing hazed wax - you're working too hard. In fact, you're making work for yourself that doesn't need to be. Once the wax has dried/hazed over, you really don't need to do anything more than wipe it off. If you're "hand buffing", meaning that your rubbing with any vigor at all in an attempt to maximize the gloss (sort of like spit shining a pair of dress boots in the Marine Corps), well, stop it!! All you're doing is making more work for yourself and you're actually being so aggressive that you're removing that last little bit of wax that you want to leave behind in the first place. You also run the risk of marring the paint with this sort of rubbing action. Properly applied, meaning really thin and uniform, any wax will be easy to wipe off - not rub or buff off, but simply wipe off. And applying wax with a DA makes it extremely easy to apply that thin and uniform coat.
Bottom line: if you're working really hard when waxing a car, you're just plain doing something wrong.
