So, I am going to attempt to compound/polish my first car. Pretty scary considering I just waxed and clay bared for the first time a couple of days ago. I decided to go out and get the DA power system that hooks to a drill. I have been doing a lot of reading and watching videos on Utoob, but I am still pretty unsure of myself and was wondering if you all could help me out. It seems like most people recommend the m105 followed by the m205. I have two problems with that. First, they do not sell m205 at any of my auto part stores ( or grit guards but that’s another story) and I am not sure if these products would work best with the DA power system. I was wondering, if I use UC instead of m105 would it be more forgiving for a newbie with a drill polisher lol? Secondly, is it necessary to follow up with m205 or could I use a cleaner wax or some other product instead? Any advice or input would be greatly appreciated and make me more comfortable trying this.

Re: first time polish
Yes, UC is much more user friendly and is based on M105 anyway.
The consumer equivalent to M205 is UP (Ultimate Polish). You should be able to find that locally.
Both UC and UP are still excellent products, even though they are made for the average consumer.
If you can't find UP there are other options. A cleaner wax (as you suggested) is one...Originally posted by BluelineI own a silver vehicle and a black vehicle owns me. The black one demands attention, washing, detailing, waxing and an occasional dinner out at a nice restaurant. The silver one demands nothing and it looks just fine. I think the black vehicle is taking advantage of me, and the silver car is more my style. We can go out for a drive without her makeup and she looks fine. If I want to take the black one out, it is three or four hours in the "bathroom" to get ready.

Yes, absolutely.
Just do a test spot first to see how your paint responds to them.Originally posted by BluelineI own a silver vehicle and a black vehicle owns me.
