  • Can I use Meguiar's shampoo as rinseless wash?

My apartment no longer lets me use their running water to wash my car. They used not care and other tenants washed their cars too, but they placed locks around the spigots in the parking lot. I have some gold class wash + ultimate wash and wax laying around.I know there are rinseless products out there, but I don't want to throw away my Gold Class Wash + Ultimate Wash and Wax. Could I use the GCW or UWW as a rinseless wash? I used the 2 bucket method before. Basically, I was thinking of using 3 buckets with grit guards each (which I have): bucket 1 will have shampoo'd water, bucket 2 will be a mitt rinse only, and bucket 3 will be pure rinse only.

    1. Wet my car with a clean water soaked MF towel or mitt
    2. Use shampoo'd mitt
    3. Wipe away the shampoo with a partially soaked MF towel
    4. Dry
    5. Repeat for each panel

    Would this work?

I would just invest in a rinseless wash such as D114, D115 or ultimate wash & wax anywhere and do it right. Save your soap for when you are able to do a 2 bucket wash or take it with you to a coin op and use it there.

I must admit, I've done it twice now when I was in a pinch.

I believe it's more about the technique than the product used.

I did it similar to the GDM. I was very careful and did not notice any negative results. Then again, the car was white. What color is your car?

We can go out for a drive without her makeup and she looks fine. If I want to take the black one out, it is three or four hours in the "bathroom" to get ready.

I have a black car. I plan on switching to rinseless but at the same time I have several other car shampoos that I really don't want to just put in the trash.

Over here in LA, most coin washes don't allow bucket washes. The coin wash near my apartment has security cameras and I rather not get in trouble. Does anyone living in the South Bay area of LA know any coin washes that will let me bucket wash my car?

There is one in Redondo Beach that you could use your bucket.

Why not go to the coin op and was there. Just fill ur buckets was and use them for the final rinse?

Take a look at, "Ultimate Wash and Wax Anywhere."
