    Hi everyone was just wondering if anyone has has luck with cleaning oxidation off of a glass lens? And if so what method did you use?

          Yeah I did not think glass could get oxidation either. It's a 1950s Chevy car.

            It might just be easier to purchase new lamps.

            The 'round' lights are still made, give your local auto parts store a go.

            This is a 6 volt system right, or has it been updated to 12 volt.? If 12V, part number should be 6054. 6V, don't remember-sorry.

              It's for a friends car, I might give it a one pass with some 1000 grit and see if that does anything at all, if not I will tell him to try and get new headlights.

                Short of using some cerium oxide to polish the glass I don't see this happening. It is most likely not oxidization but pitting and build up inside the light. Probably cheaper to replace them.
