How to deal with glass roofs and window sides ?

Guys,

My car has half of its roof in a blackend glass type material. Probably just glass ? Same as the window separators. See pic below... Should we be applying wax to these or just leave them ? I did notice on my previous car, i did manage to get swirls on those black window sides. If i get them on my new car, should we be using a compound to get those out ?

If it is glossy, you can always wax it.

Not sure on the material.. Sounds more like plastic to me.

Do you have any close up photos? It could be that piano plastic.

If it's painted then you can treat them like paint. The pillars can sometimes be soft and swirl up easily. A polish can usually fix them right up. White wax will also work.

My Audi has the full panoramic roof.

The first three panels from the front are all real (tinted) glass which is great. I don't need to be careful about how I clean / wash / dry them and they never scratch or swirl.

The panel at the back of the roof looks like the other three, but it's actually shiny plastic. This behaves the opposite to the other three - you just touch it and it swirls / marrs / scratches. I've had success removing the scratches a couple of times with ColorX and D151, but I just get more a few weeks later

The pillars are also very sensitive, but can be lightly polished with an AIO (as above) or a polish like UP.

All of the above get waxed / spray waxed regularly.
