  • Ultimate Wax Paste or Liquid

    Hi to all,
Which one you recommend to black cars UW paste or liquid and why? In other thread Mr. Stoops said the liquid contained polish to add darken effects to the dark cars? And also, how may coats you also recommend? Thanks

Both are essentially the same. A difference being that the paste version will stain trim. The liquid version will not. 2 coats would be all you need.

Like "Guz" said above, but the liquid NOT staining trim is a big plus. I even use it (UW Liquid) on all the plastic 'stuff.'

I have had better luck with the liquid.
I used a PC to put the first coat on followed by a super thin second coat by hand.

While I know it is not true, I was always of the belief that a paste wax would last longer than a liquid. Have never tried ULW, howver UPW is a pretty fine product.
I have never had any staining issues with it.

I use both depending on the mood I am in. I lean towards the paste more then liquid, but both are excellent waxes.

I use the Paste (Wally World was out of the Liquid when I picked mine up). I've noticed that when applied THIN as directed, I don't have any staining issues either. I prefer 2 - 3 coats over a two day period ... just to ensure complete coverage since the coats are going on so thin that it's hard to see where the wax is and where it isn't sometimes, even on a dark red car.

I’ve never tried Ultimate Liquid, I do have the paste version. I’ve read reviews about Ultimate Wax (Liquid and Paste) smearing and being difficult to use, so far I’ve been able to apply it real thin, I feel that Thin Film Technology works as advertised. So far, I’ve been able to apply Ultimate Paste Wax as thin or even thinner than NXT 2.0 liquid. Removal is effortless, I prefer paste waxes but I am open to trying the liquid counterpart. Even if megs says durability is the same with liquid and the paste, I prefer the paste version.

The meguiar direct site states that the paste wax does not turn trim white.....

                  did they update the product?
