  • ColorX in the Cold weather outside. Safe to use????

    Hello,
Can I use ColorX to clean (cleaner wax) my WHITE car.
Its probably around 35 F degrees outside.

This ColorX wax is very easy to put on and take off, but I was incurring
if possible to put and take off in the cold weather months outside (in the shade ofcourse).

    Thank you

yes, it will take a little longer to set up and haze, but I have used it below 40 before.

If it is cold, better to work in the sun....

            thank you
Claying in cold weather should be fine, should be a lot better than in the sun with the panels hotter than normal. You should have less problems with your QD/Clay lube drying up too quickly.

Ambient temps below 50F can cause a slow down in the drying of most waxes and can make wipe off of waxes, compounds, polishes and even quick detailers slow or problematic. You won't actually harm or do any damage by using any of these products in lower temperatures, but the user experience can be impacted by the lower temps, especially if you're in the habit of overusing product. Since this question was posed on an enthusiast detailing forum, we're going with the assumption that proper technique is being used (!) so hopefully the user experience isn't compromised too much! As has been noted, even though we generally recommend applying any of the above mentioned products in the shade, in the case of a white car on a 35F day..... stay in the sunshine!!! It will actually help your cause.

Otherwise, we applaud you for even considering working on your car when the thermometer has just gotten above freezing! Now that's Car Crazy!!
