  • Removing light swirls on red

I have these irritating swirls on my 2014 Race Red Mustang GT and they have to go. I bought the G110v2 with two yellow pads to apply UP and a black pad for my wax. I have not purchased a wax yet though. I will following the listed steps below. Hopefully this works. Any tips? What wax works best on a high gloss red?

    1. Wash and Dry
    2. Clay
    3. Apply Ultimate Polish with yellow pad
    4. Apply ( insert wax here) with black pad

I also purchased swirl x to try first before ultimate polish.

Sounds like you are on the right track. As far as your wax. what are you looking for? Looks or protection?

For looks - I would recommend M26 Hi Tech Wax. It's carnauba based and should last you a couple months.

For looks and durability - I would recommend Ultimate Liquid Wax.

For long term protection - Paint Protect 365 would be my recommendation.

Another option that people like to do is top a sealant with a wax. So you get the best of both worlds. You get the protection of the sealant and the looks of the carnauba. So you could apply ultimate wax and top with M26 after letting ultimate wax cure for about 8-12 hours.

Try the UP, but you may find it's not strong enough to remove all the swirls. Try it on a test spot first, so you don't waste time/effort doing the whole car.

If you don't get the correction you're after, go out and buy Ultimate Compound and apply that on a yellow pad. Then follow UC with your UP (depending on how the UC finishes out / your expectations / time).

Agree with Guz about the waxes.

We can go out for a drive without her makeup and she looks fine. If I want to take the black one out, it is three or four hours in the "bathroom" to get ready.
