  • Did I get the right stuff?

I've been searching around trying to figure out the right combos of pads and compound and haven't been very successful.

So I have a harbor freight DA
    I have a polish/wax I've been using with a black pad on speed 3 of 6
I've been wanting to do the family's car which has some noticable swirls.
So I went out and purchased some meguiars ultimate compound
And I also accidently picked up some of these thin pads which I thought were the thick ones..
    I got 1 burgundy and 2 yellow.

Meguiars 5 Inch DA Foam Discs 3 Pack - Thin is in! Meguiars DA Foam Discs are ultra-thin foam pads that are designed for swirl and scratch removal, general polishing and waxing with a dual action polisher, like the Meguiars G110v2. Low profile ...

So basically my question is.. Is the burgundy pad with UC safe to use or is it too much?
Or is the ultimate compound and the yellow pad enough to remove swirls?
And then finish up with the polish wax and black pad? Or use the second yellow pad I got with the polish / wax?

And what speed should I be using?

Sorry if this has been asked a million times, I just want to confirm the exact products I'm using will or won't work so I don't mess up the paint!

    Thanks in advanced!

Those thin pads are supposed to fantastic!

Starting with the least aggressive optuon first, try the Ultimate Compound on the yellow pad. If that's not getting you there, use the burgundy.

      Well said.

Are you going to follow up with a dedicated polish (ultimate polish, M205..etc) or a wax? There are times when UC can finish LSP ready. That depends on the paints behavior.

You can find out more info on the new pads here.

You read that right, "foam discs" rather than pads. These

      A couple reviews.

Foam DISCS? Yes, discs. While we were brought in a little "last minute" to test these babies out, we did get about a 3 week sneak peek to give them a run. The very cool part though, they were delivered in person by Mr. Jason Rose of Meguiars, who happened to be passing through our neck of the woods while we were
